Warning: "Manisty & Co Solicitors" and emails from Daniel Manisty

Emails supposedly from Daniel Manisty of "Manisty & Co Solicitors" and a website www.manistylaw.com, falsely claiming to be for a firm of solicitors.

What is the scam?

The SRA has been informed that a member of the public has received an email from Daniel Manisty, in which it is claimed he is the "Principal Partner" of "Manisty & Co Solicitors".

The email provides a telephone number of +44(0)7452108457, a fax number of +44(0)2076917676 and a website address of "www.manistylaw.com". The email was sent from the email address "d.manisty9@tx.rr.com".

A website is in operation for "Manisty & Co Solicitors" from "www.manistylaw.com", which falsely claims to be for a firm of solicitors based in London. The website provides an address for the firm of 17 Hanover Square, London, W1S 1BN and an additional telephone number of +44(0)203 286 8979.

This website claims that several individuals besides Daniel Manisty work at the firm. Some of the names of these individuals are the same as the names of genuine solicitors (see below).

The SRA does not authorise or regulate a firm called Manisty & Co Solicitors and does not authorise or regulate any individual called Daniel Manisty.

Any business or transactions through "Manisty & Co Solicitors" or Daniel Manisty, or through the website, email address or telephone and fax numbers set out above, are not undertaken by a solicitor's practice or an individual authorised and regulated by the SRA.

Is there a genuine firm or person?

The SRA authorises and regulates several genuine firms who use 17 Hanover Square, London, WS1 1BN as their office address. The SRA does not believe that any of these genuine firms are connected to the website or email referred to above.

The SRA authorises and regulates several genuine solicitors called Timothy Pearce, Edward Wilson or Brian Howard. The SRA does not believe that any of these genuine individuals are connected to the website or email referred to above.
