Pursuant to section 13A of the Solicitors Act 1974 (as amended) and regulation 7.1 of the SRA Practising Regulations 2011 to impose the following immediate conditions on Ms Goh's current practising certificate:
1. Ms Goh is to have no responsibility for the supervision of conveyancing matters.
2.Ms Goh undertakes a course accredited by the Solicitors Regulation Authority on the subject of conveyancing within 6 months of the date of notification of this decision and provides confirmation of the completion of the course (in the form of a certificate or letter of attendance from the course provider) at such course within 7 months of notification of this decision.
Reasons/basis
The Authorised Officer had regard to regulation 7.1(a) and (d) of the SRA Practising Regulations 2011 and was satisfied that it was necessary to impose the above conditions as the Authorised Officer considered that Ms Goh is unsuitable to undertake certain activities, and will, in the public interest, require her to undertake certain steps conducive to the carrying on of efficient practice. The Authorised Officer was satisfied that the imposition of the above conditions is necessary, reasonable and proportionate.
