Decision details
To grant Mr Toslim Uddin Ahmed a practising certificate for the practice year 2009/2010 subject to the conditions that he delivers half yearly accountant’s reports, such reports and any cease to hold report required, to be delivered within 2 months of the end of the period to which they relate.
Reasons/basis
In light of the accountant's report in respect of Mr Ahmed’s sole practice of Universal Solicitors for the year ending 5 April 2008 being delivered 9 months late for which he had been reprimanded, and further, his accountant's report for the subsequent year ending 5 April 2009 which remains outstanding, the SRA was satisfied that it is in the public interest that Mr Ahmed's compliance of the Solicitors Accounts Rules should be subject to additional monitoring by the SRA. This condition will ensure that the SRA will be in a position to monitor Mr Ahmed’s compliance of the Solicitors Accounts Rules on a more regular basis.
