Decision details
1. The Authorised Officer DECIDES to grant Mr Robert Neil Acheson-Gray a practising certificate for the practice year 2009/02010 subject to the following conditions:
1.1 he may act as a solicitor only in employment which has first been approved by the Solicitors Regulation Authority;
1.2 he is not a sole practitioner or a manager or owner of a recognised body;
1.3 Mr Robert Neil Acheson-Gray shall immediately inform any actual or prospective employer of these conditions and the reasons for their imposition.
1.4 In this condition "manager" is as defined in section 207 of the Legal Services Act 2007 and "owner" is as defined in rule 24 of the Solicitors' Code of Conduct.
Reasons/basis
In light of Mr Acheson-Gray's current financial situation and the fact that his bankruptcy has yet to be discharged, the Authorised Officer is satisfied that it is appropriate and necessary in the interests of the public and clients that Mr Acheson-Gray's practice as a solicitor should continue to be subject to an additional degree of support and supervision.
