Decision details
To grant Mr Malcolm Keith Harris a practising certificate for the practice year 2010/2011 subject to the condition that he delivers half yearly accountant’s reports to the Solicitors Regulation Authority, such reports and any cease to hold report required under the rules to be delivered within 2 months of the end of the period to which they relate.
Reasons/basis
In light of Mr Harris continuing to be subject to a Company Voluntary Arrangement in respect of his current firm of LHP Law Limited Liability Partnership, the SRA is satisfied that the above condition will, in the public interest, continue to facilitate closer monitoring by the SRA of his compliance with the Solicitors’ Accounts Rules, pursuant to Regulation 6.1(e) of the SRA Practising Regulations 2009.

Decision details
The Authorised Officer DECIDED to grant Mr Harris a practising certificate for the practice year 2011/2012 free from conditions.
Reasons/basis
Mr Harris was subject to Regulation 3.1(g) and (k)(iv) of the SRA Practising Regulations 2011.
The Authorised Officer was satisfied that it would not be necessary, reasonable or proportionate in the interests of protection of the public to impose any practising certificate condition. The Authorised Officer was also satisfied that none of the purposes specified in Regulation 7 of the SRA Practising Regulations 2011 make it necessary in the interests of the public to impose any practising certificate condition. Accordingly, the Authorised Officer authorised the issue of an unconditional practising certificate.
