(1) He delivers half yearly accountant's reports, such reports, and any cease to hold report required, to be delivered within 2 months of the end of the period to which it relates.
(2) He undertakes courses accredited by the Solicitors Regulation Authority on the topics of
- (a) the Solicitors' Accounts Rules and
- (b) the new SRA Handbook
within 6 months of the date of notification of this decision and provides confirmation of his completion of the course (in the form of a certificate or letter of attendance from the course provider) when he next applies for a practising certificate.
Reasons/basis
The delivery of more frequent accountant's reports will allow the SRA to monitor more closely Mr Hurrell's compliance with the Solicitors' Accounts Rules, and that the requirement for Mr Hurrell to attend training courses on the above topics is conducive to the carrying on of a more efficient practice by Mr Hurrell. In reaching this decision, regard had been given to Regulation 6.1(d) and (e) of the SRA Practising Regulations 2009 which sets out the purpose for which conditions may be imposed on a practising certificate.
