The Authorised Officer DECIDED to grant Mr Tempest a practising certificate for the practice year 2009/2010, subject to the condition that he undertakes a course accredited by the Solicitors Regulation Authority on the Solicitors Code of Conduct 2007 within 6 months of the date of notification of this decision and provides confirmation of the completion of the course (in the form of a certificate or letter of attendance from the course provider) at such course within 8 months of notification of this decision.
Reasons/basis
The Authorised Officer noted the Findings of the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal dated 2 December 2008 where it was decided that there had been clear breaches of the rules of professional conduct. The Authorised Officer was of the opinion that it would be beneficial to Mr Tempest to attend a course on the Solicitors Code of Conduct to update and refresh his knowledge of the rules.
