Decision details
An Authorised Officer DECIDED to grant Emmanuel Edada a practising certificate for the practice year 2009/2010 subject to the condition that within six months of the date of notification of this decision, he undertakes a course, accredited by the Solicitors Regulation Authority, for the purpose of continuing professional development on law firm management and provides confirmation of his attendance (in the form of a certificate or letter of completion from the course provider) when he next applies for a practising certificate.
Reasons/basis
The above condition is imposed in the interests of the public and the profession. The Authorised Officer considered that it will be beneficial to Mr Edada as sole principal of Emmanuel & Co to ensure that his knowledge on effectively managing and supervising the running of a firm is refreshed and updated. This is not a disciplinary sanction, as continuing professional development is a mandatory professional requirement.
