Decision details

To grant Miss Zoe Maryanne Anderson a practising certificate for the practice year 2010/2011 subject the conditiona that;

(1) she may act as a solicitor only in employment which has first been approved by the Solicitors Regulation Authority;

(2) she is not a sole practitioner or a manger or owner of a recognised body; and

(3) she shall immediately inform any actual or prospective employer of these conditions and the reasons for their imposition.

Reasons/basis

As a result of Miss Keene's financial situation, the Solicitors Regulation Authority is satisfied that she is unsuitable to engage in certain practising arrangements (set out above) and, that it is in the public interest to restrict her practising arrangements such that she is required to obtain the Solicitors Regulation Authority’s written consent to any arrangement in order to limit, halt or prevent a risk to clients, third parties or the public interest. The Solicitors Regulation Authority has also taken into account that her conduct has been referred to the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal concerning matters that arose in a previous firm in which she was a partner. The Solicitors Regulation Authority is satisfied that the conditions are necessary, reasonable and proportionate.
