To grant Miss Choon Yit Susan Ding a practising certificate for the practice year 2009/2010 subject to a condition:
That within 4 months of notification of this decision she undertakes a course accredited by the Solicitors Regulation Authority on the Solicitors Code of Conduct 2007 and provides confirmation of the completion of the course (in the form of a certificate or letter of attendance from the course provider) within 6 months of notification of this decision.
Reasons/basis
The Authorised Officer had carefully considered this application and had noted that the Tribunal found none of the allegations against Miss Ding to have been substantiated together with her comments that in light of this she could be granted a practising certificate for 2009/2010 free from conditions.
However, the Authorised Officer had also noted that Miss Ding had not practised as a solicitor for over 3 years and therefore considers that for the purposes of Regulation 6 of the SRA’s Practising Regulations 2009 it was in the interests of the public that she should update and enhance her knowledge of the rules governing the profession.
The Authorised Officer was satisfied, in line with paragraph 4A of the SRA’s publication policy, that it was in the public interest to publish this decision.
