To grant Miss Hafeez a practising certificate subject to the condition
1. that should she hold client monies that she will be required to deliver half yearly accountant’s reports, such reports and any cease to hold report required, to be delivered within 2 months of the end of the period to which they relate; and
2. that she undertakes a course accredited by the Solicitors Regulation Authority on the Solicitors Accounts Rules 1998 by 10 August 2010 and provides confirmation of completion of the course (in the form of a certificate or letter of attendance from the course provider) at such course when she next applies for a practising certificate; and
3. that she undertakes a course accredited by the Solicitors Regulation Authority on the Solicitors’ Code of Conduct 2007, by 10 August 2010and provides confirmation of her completion (in the form of a certificate or letter of attendance from the course provider) of such course when she next applies for a practising certificate.
Reasons/basis
The Authorised Officer was satisfied that the above conditions are appropriate and proportionate whilst at the same time facilitates closer monitoring of Miss Hafeez’s practice by the SRA so as to ensure that the interests of the public are protected.
The Authorised Officer consider that Miss Hafeez and indeed any prospective clients will benefit from her attendance upon the suggested courses on the Solicitors’ Code of Conduct 2007 (2009) and the Solicitors Accounts Rules 1998. It is further considered to be in the interests of the public that she receives updated training which will assist her in providing clients with a better level of service.
