Decision details

The Authorised Officer decided to impose immediate conditions on the current practising certificate of Shahin Sultana Rahman pursuant to Section 13A of the Solicitors Act 1974 (as amended) and Regulation 6.1(f) of the SRA Practising Regulations 2009 namely:

1. She is not sole a signatory to any client or office account and does not have the power to authorise electronic payments or transfers from any client or office account.

2. She shall only be co-signatory with at least one other solicitor who has been qualified for a minimum of 3 years.

3. She undertakes a course accredited by the Solicitors Regulation Authority on the new SRA Handbook within 3 months of the date of notification of this decision and provides confirmation of the completion of the course (in the form of a certificate or letter of attendance from the course provider) at such course when she next applies for a practising certificate.  

Reasons/basis

In making the above recommendation the Authorised Officer had regard to the Regulation 6.1 (a) and (d) of the SRA Practising Regulations 2009.
