Choosing a solicitor
When searching for a solicitor, it's likely you will want to find one with skills and expertise in the matter with which you are seeking help. You can use the Law Society's online directory, Find a solicitor, to locate a legal adviser with the knowledge and experience you are looking for.
How to search
You can search for a solicitor who specialises in a particular area of law. Each year, solicitors tell the SRA which areas of law they specialise in. Bear in mind that solicitors are not required to prove to the SRA any specialist expertise they state they have in an area of law.
You can also search for a solicitor by location (including postcode) and country, in order to find a solicitor in the right area for you. If you need a solicitor who speaks a language other than English, you can specify this as a requirement in your search.
