FAQ

How long will it take for the SRA to make a decision?

Once we have received your completed nomination form, we aim to make a decision within a period of between 30 days and three months, depending on the complexity of the case and information required. For example, candidates may be required to complete background checks, including criminal records, or information may be needed from overseas.

We will keep the applicant informed of the progress of their application. The rules do provide for a decision period of six months. We expect that decisions would only take this length of time in the most exceptional circumstances and as a result of extensive investigations.
