FAQs - qualified lawyer transfer scheme (QLTS)

What do I do if my certificate of eligibility issued under the Qualified Lawyers Transfer Regulations 2009 has expired?

You can take tests and/or satisfy work experience requirements until your certificate of eligibility expires.

If your certificate of eligibility expires before you have met all of the requirements, you must re-apply for a certificate of eligibility under the new transfer scheme. If we grant you a new certificate, you must pass the assessments required by the new transfer scheme. Test results you have already achieved cannot be carried over to, or carry any weight in, the new transfer scheme.

You cannot apply to extend your certificate of eligibility issued under the Qualified Lawyers Transfer Regulations 2009.
