Individual renewal application 2016 – questions overview

The practising certificate (PC) renewals period will run from 1-31 October 2016.

We have made some changes that should help make the process quicker and easier for you. This includes making the forms shorter and clearer about what information we need.

We have removed the following sections:

  • Section 2 - Personal details
  • Section 3 - Main practising details
  • Section 4 - Other practising details
  • Section 5 - Eligibility to practise
  • Section 6 - Work categories
  • Section 7 - Languages
  • Section 11 - Indemnity insurance
  • Section 12 - Welsh language

This information now comes directly from your mySRA profile.

Form summary

Here is a summary of the renewal application form to help you prepare for this year's renewals.

Section 1 - Getting started

This tells you what your application is for and what information you need to complete.

Section 2 - Regulation 3 of the SRA Practising Regulations 2011

If you are subject to Regulation 3 of the SRA Practising Regulations, you will be asked to provide details.

Regulation 3 applies to applications following an issue such as a financial, criminal, or regulatory conduct matter.

Section 3 - CPD/continuing competence

Because of the introduction of our new approach to continuing competence in April 2015, you will be asked to confirm the following:

  • Have you reflected on your practice and addressed any identified learning and development needs or completed 16 hours of CPD training in the year to 31 October 2015?

Please visit our toolkit for more on continuing competence and advice on moving to the new approach, which replaces the old counting of CPD hours this November.

Section 4 - Reduced fees

If you are currently, or have recently been, on maternity leave you may be eligible for a reduced fee.

Section 5 - Summary

You can select the 'Summary' link to view a summary of your answers, or you can go to the straight to the next page.

Section 6 - Fee/declaration/payment

This is where you will confirm the information given within this application is correct and the declaration statement that must be ticked to proceed.
