About mySRA
Last updated 14 January 2012
mySRA is transforming the way you—as a solicitor or other legal services provider—interact with us. It replaces our paper-based system of application forms and fees, providing you with a unique username and password to access your own online SRA account.
You'll use mySRA to pay renewal fees, update your practising details, make a broad range of applications to us as your regulator, and get instant information about the progress of applications and other regulatory processes.
Why we are introducing mySRA
We are introducing mySRA to improve our service.
mySRA will
- reduce the amount of paper-based form filling,
- enable you to update details online throughout the year,
- save you time, and
- make the whole process of engaging with your regulator easier and more accessible.
Many other regulatory bodies in this country already have online registration systems that have proved very successful. We aim to deliver an equivalent experience to our regulated community.
What mySRA will mean for you
We are replacing our existing paper-based application processes. Our new online system, mySRA, gives you a unique username and password combination to access your account. From your account, you can make a range of applications, update your personal details, and get information and guidance from us.
In brief, mySRA
- gives you more control over the data we hold about you,
- offers round-the-clock access to your account,
- enables you to track the progress of your applications online, and
- lets you pay online.
Paying online
mySRA lets you securely pay for individual applications online with a credit card or debit card. You can also use a credit card or debit card to pay online for firm-based applications such as bulk renewal of practising certificates and registrations. For firm-based applications, you can use other payment methods such as BACs, CHAPs and Telegraphic Transfer.
