Join the conversation

I have a confession to make. I like a chat... and as the end of the year approaches, I've been reflecting on 2015 at the SRA. If I could sum it up in one phrase it would be 'a year of engagement', or perhaps, just 'chatting to you as much as possible!'

SRA on the road

Over the last 12 months we've held lots of events across England and Wales. From our "A Question of Trust" road shows, taking practitioners and the public alike through our ethical dilemmas, through to our annual compliance conference in October, it's been a busy year. If you've come along to any of our events, I hope you've enjoyed them – I found it great meeting people at the conference and having a go at the "A Question of Trust" voting myself!

Taking the conversation social

This year has also seen us reach out to more people than ever before through social media across many different platforms. We have been promoting the Risk Outlook and accompanying papers extensively, particularly on Twitter and LinkedIn. Which brings me nicely on to something new we're trying, to round out the year...

Something new

To coincide with the launch of the priority risks update and small firms paper, we're inviting you to join in some conversations about different risks and issues. We will be posting questions through the SRA's LinkedIn account and I'm going to be responding to your replies, along with my colleague and fellow risk blogger Chris Dehame-Hare. Chatting to you through LinkedIn is a new approach for us – and I'm interested to see how many contributors we get and the different ways we can help get you involved. The questions will range from your views on cybercrime and innovation, to asking what you think we should look at when planning next year's Risk Outlook. Hopefully as many people as possible will get involved as possible!

The role of social media for a regulator

Beyond LinkedIn, we also have content on Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest. Social media can be a great way for us to make sure we are reflecting what is happening on the ground in law firms, and also a good way to get the latest news to you. So please do look out for the LinkedIn discussions throughout December, and I look forward to hearing from you!
