Achieving the right outcomes

You are invited to take part in the debate about how we intend to transform the regulation of solicitors and the organisations in which they work.

We are planning to move towards outcomes-focused regulation in 2011, meaning that our work will concentrate more on the quality of what a solicitor is delivering to the client, than prescribing how they reached that stage.

Conflict and confidentiality: Second consultation

This is the second consultation concerning amendments to rule 3 (conflict of interest) and rule 4 (duties of confidentiality and disclosure) where clients are sophisticated users of legal services. We invite your views on whether the draft rules are sufficiently flexible while continuing to protect the best interests of these clients and the public.
