Research into issues of disproportionality
We commissioned a group of business psychologists who specialise in the area of diversity to research the disproportionality of regulatory actions taken against black and minority ethnic (BME) solicitors.
The final stage of this research concerns the statistical analysis of SRA data in order to identify which factors contribute towards a solicitor being more likely to have a case raised against them, as well as investigating whether the SRA processes themselves contribute to disproportionate experiences for BME solicitors. An interim report (PDF 23 pages, 894K) was published earlier in 2010.
