Members

Terms of reference

  • To advise and act on behalf of the Board on matters concerning the development of an effective regulatory standards framework
  • To keep that regulatory framework under review and report to the Board on its effectiveness, where necessary proposing change
  • To develop and challenge SRA policy and ensure that policy is evidence based and consulted on as appropriate
  • To support the development of the SRA Handbook and in particular the use of the code of conduct by the profession and the public in a range of media formats
  • To promote professional standards and support engagement with the profession, firms, consumer groups and the public in the development and implementation of any guidance
  • To liaise with all other SRA Board Committees where appropriate
  • To set proportionate and consistent standards for all individuals and entities regulated and licensed by the SRA and the ways in which they can practise, particularly in the context of alternative business structures
