Higher Courts Qualification Regulations 2000

The Ministry of Justice has approved an application by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) to extend the accreditation route (Regulation 6) and the exemption route (Regulation 7) for solicitors to qualify to appear before the higher courts until 31 December 2008.

Having conducted a consultation on the future of higher rights of audience in early 2007, the SRA is working on developing a voluntary accreditation scheme to replace the existing arrangements from 1 January 2009. Further announcements will be made during 2008.
