Trainee minimum salary levels for 2008/09

Each year we stipulate two minimum salary levels—one for trainees working in Central London and another for trainees working elsewhere in England and Wales. Similarly, we specify two recommended salary levels.

The minimum and recommended trainee salary levels for the 12-month period beginning 1 August 2008 are as follows:

Central London

• Minimum salary – £18,420 pa
• Recommended salary – £18,870 pa

Elsewhere

• Minimum salary – £16,500 pa
• Recommended salary – £16,790 pa

We have notified all SRA-authorised training establishments of the new salary levels in writing.
