SRA invites bids for CPD research tenders

The Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) is inviting bids for a research contract as part of its work on the Review of Solicitors' Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

The SRA's Education & Training Unit began its review in April as part of the drive to review the current model of solicitors' CPD and will provide a key source of data for the Legal Education and Training Review (LETR), which is being conducted in parallel by the SRA, the Bar Standards Board (BSB) and the Institute of Legal Executives Professional Standards (IPS). The research will build upon work carried out so far on the project and will provide an invaluable base for policy development in this area.

Maxine Warr, Education & Training Policy Manager, said: "We want a new system of CPD requirements that is proportionate, targeted and compatible with the principles of outcomes-focussed regulation (OFR). This project will add to the recent research we've conducted and will support high standards in the delivery of legal services through education and training.
"This is an exciting time in legal education and training and this research provides a unique opportunity to shape future CPD requirements for the profession."

The deadline for accepting bids will be 20 February with successful bids announced by 24 February. View the tender specification
