Deadline looms for students with suitability issues

Students hoping to enrol with the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) prior to starting a Legal Practice Course (LPC) in October are being given a quick reminder that, if they have character and suitability issues, they only have until 2 April to submit their application and supporting documentation. Without that documentation, applications will not be processed.

Students can either send their documentation electronically to or via post to:

Solicitors Regulation Authority
The Cube
199 Wharfside Street
B1 1RN

The implications of applying late are very serious and could result in the application for enrolment being refused. Late applications will only be considered when accompanied by a comprehensive explanation of the circumstances for the failure to meet the deadline. All relevant circumstances will be taken into account.

Students without character and suitability issues, must apply for student enrolment one month in advance of their proposed LPC start date. Applicants are reminded that they need to have both student enrolment and completion of the academic stage in place when commencing their LPC course.

If they do not have this at the time they start the course, they will be asked to leave the course immediately.
