Solicitors targeted by fake Land Registry emails

Solicitor firms are among those being targeted by emails claiming to be sent from the Land Registry.

The emails ask recipients to log onto their account. This allows a virus to be uploaded onto their computer systems.

Local law societies across the country have reported that they had been sent bogus emails. The Land Registry has issued advice on making sure an email is genuine and what to do if you are suspicious:
