SRA announces new litigation panel

The Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) has concluded its tender process for the appointment of firms to its litigation and legal advice panel.

The successful firms appointed are:

  • Bevan Brittan LLP
  • Capsticks LLP
  • Devonshires Solicitors
  • Kingsley Napley LLP
  • Russell-Cooke LLP
  • Simmons & Simmons LLP

The appointments began on 1 June 2013 and will be for an initial period of three years, renewable by the SRA annually for a further two years.

Jennifer Johnson, SRA Head of Legal and Enforcement, said: "We had originally been looking to recruit five firms to maintain the size of the previous panel, but the high standard of the bids from these applicants persuaded the SRA to appoint all six. We look forward to working with all of them over the coming years."

The successful firms will be responsible for:

  • dealing with court proceedings arising from interventions
  • representation in recovery litigation including tracing actions/injunctions
  • defending and pursuing judicial review applications
  • regulatory appeals
  • defending and pursuing other types of claims on behalf of the SRA
  • providing other types of legal advice on regulatory issues
