Planning for PC renewals 2013 begins

The SRA is planning for this year's Practising Certificate Renewals Exercise (PCRE 2013) to revert back to the regulatory practising year.

The launch date for the exercise will be mid-September (exact date to be confirmed) and the deadline for applications will be 31 October, 2013.

In order to assist firms with their planning, the SRA has announced indicative timescales as follows:

Second week of July: The SRA will email organisation contacts and authorised signatories with further details on what PCRE 2013 will look like for users. This will include information on what changes have been made to the application process since last year. However, there will be no changes to the application questions.

Mid-August: The SRA will confirm the exact start date; issue a detailed reference guide; outline any changes to the process, and provide links to sources of support, including web-based information, FAQs, and a user guide.

Rachel Lewis, Authorisation Operations Manager, said: "We hope that providing these key, indicative dates at an early stage will assist firms with their planning. In the meantime, we urge everyone to update and maintain their personal details within their mySRA profile on an ongoing basis as this will save time and resource when the renewals window opens.

"All authorised signatories and organisation contacts can, of course, update employee details for those who have opted into the bulk renewal, should they wish to do so."

To use mySRA, users need to activate their mySRA account.
