SRA reminds profession of PC renewals deadline

With just 28 days remaining for firms and individuals to complete this year’s PC renewals exercise, the SRA is urging action.

While there is extensive activity taking place in updating the "Profile" section of mySRA and carrying out preparatory work, less than a fifth of the regulated community has created or created and submitted an application. Service levels within the SRA’s Contact Centre have improved dramatically since the PC renewals window opened on 16 September, compared to previous years.

More than 11,000 calls have been made on the PC renewals lines over this period, with 94 per cent answered. Average wait times have been no more than 60 seconds.

Service levels have been maintained even during traditionally peak calling times such as lunch-time.

Tina Till, Head of the Contact Centre, said: "We have done a great deal of work within the Contact Centre over the past six months to provide the regulated community with the best service we can. Activity on our phone lines is obviously going to increase as the deadline for PC renewals approaches so we want to encourage callers with PC queries to call sooner rather than later."

The deadline for PC renewals is Thursday, 31 October. The revocation process will commence in November with the SRA once more taking a tough line against those who have failed to renew or pay their fees. Individuals and firms are therefore strongly advised to comply with the renewals deadline.
