Roadshow places snapped up in an hour

High demand for the latest Solicitors Regulation Authority roadshows has meant two extra sessions being added to the London dates.

The free two-hour events will include presentations by Board members and senior management on the new Handbook, an explanation of its new outcomes-focused approach to regulation and the proposed licensing of alternative business structures (ABS).

Places at the original two London sessions, one at Chancery Lane and one at the Crowne Plaza in Ealing, were snapped up in less than an hour.

Now the SRA has added extra sessions at both venues. Places are now available at Chancery Lane on 4 May at 4pm to 6pm and at Ealing on 5 May at 1.30pm to 3.30pm.

There will also be 11 roadshows at venues across England and Wales, including York, Liverpool and Cardiff.

SRA Chief Executive Antony Townsend said: "This year's extensive programme of roadshows will give us the opportunity to meet the profession to explain how the new system will work in practice, and to answer questions face to face."
