Come and join us to discuss assessment framework proposals

By Sophie Crookson, Policy Officer - Stakeholder Engagement, 24 June 2015

We're looking forward to welcoming stakeholders to our event in London on 6 July—Developing a new competence assessment framework. The event will bring together solicitors, education and training providers, and consumer representative bodies, so discussion promises to be lively.

As well as informing attendees of our most recent developments, including how we expect to manage transition from the existing to any new assessment framework, we want to encourage different stakeholder groups to work together in shaping our proposals. Julie Brannan (Director of Education and Training) and colleagues are keen to hear your views on

  • whether the model for a new professional assessment is deliverable,
  • implications for consumers,
  • possible risks and suggestions for how we might we mitigate them,
  • the place and value of any pre-qualification work experience, and
  • any equality issues.

We have attendees signed up from small and large firms, from universities offering the qualifying law degree and the legal practice course, and from charities representing the interests of consumers. If you would like to join the discussion, there's still time—all are welcome. We just ask that you register your attendance in advance.
