Ways to pay

Any payment received without an accompanying application form will be held for a maximum of 30 days before we return it.

We do not provide receipts.

Payment by UK cheque

Payment from overseas by cheque or banker's draft

Add £20 to your payment if you are

This is to cover bank charges. All foreign cheques must be signed and dated on the reverse by the drawer.

Please note it may take up to eight weeks for a foreign cheque to clear, and we will not process your application until we have received the cleared money.

Payment by credit/debit card

The Law Society accepts

Please complete the credit/debit authorisation form (PDF 43K) and return it with your completed application form.

We recommend that you inform your bank so that the payment is not declined by your bank's standard security checks.

Payment direct to the Law Society from your bank

You may pay direct to the Society's bank account. All charges must be paid by the remitter and the remitter's name and SRA number must be quoted as a reference.

You must ensure you instruct your bank to pay us, as we are unable to request the payment for you.
