The Law Society and Bar Council recognise for qualifying purposes the LLB of the Open University, in which graduates have passed the assessments and examinations set in the four 60-credit modules: Understanding Law; Law the Individual and the State; Law Agreements Rights and Remedies; and Law Ownership and Trusteeship Rights and Responsibilities and a further 120 points of credit.

The Solicitors Regulation Authority and the Bar Standards Board recognise the Law Degree of the University of London for External students as "Qualifying Law Degrees", provided the period of study involved is not more than six years and the graduate has passed the written assessments in the seven foundation law subjects.
