Warning: Telephone call misusing the details of “Your Law”

 A member of the public has received a telephone call falsely claiming to be calling on behalf of Your Law.

What is the scam?

The SRA has been informed that the unsolicited call was made to a member of the public in the name of “Your Law”. It is reported that the telephone call was made from the telephone number “0330 117 0737” and related to possible personal injury claim following a car accident.

Any business or transactions conducted through unsolicited telephone calls claiming to be on behalf of Your Law Solicitors are not undertaken by a solicitor's practice or an individual authorised or regulated by the SRA.

Is there a genuine firm or person?

The SRA does authorise and relate a genuine firm called Your Law LLP (trading as Your Law).

The firm’s genuine telephone number is 03330 035808.

The genuine firm has confirmed that it has no connection with the telephone call referred to above and has confirmed that it does not make unsolicited calls to potential new clients.

What should I do?

When a firm's or individual's identity has been copied exactly (or cloned), due diligence is necessary. If you receive correspondence claiming to be from the above firm(s) or individual(s), or information of a similar nature to that described, you should conduct your own due diligence by checking the authenticity of the correspondence by contacting the law firm directly by reliable and established means. You can contact the SRA to find out if individuals or firms are regulated and authorised by the SRA and verify an individual's or firm's practising details. Other verification methods, such as checking public records (e.g. telephone directories and company records) may be required in other circumstances.
