An email has been sent misusing the name of Nico Naper of Bhogal Partners, attaching a document which may contain malware if opened.
What is the scam?
An email has been sent misusing the name of a genuine solicitor (see below) informing the recipient that 'Nico Naper shared Bhogal Partners Project Report with you'. The recipient is advised to see the enclosed document. The concern is that the attachment may contain malware if opened.
The email misuses the name of the genuine solicitor and the name and contact details of a genuine firm of solicitors.
Is there a genuine firm or person?
The SRA authorises and regulates a genuine firm of solicitors called Bhogal Partners. The firm’s registered head office is at 33 Bath Road, Hounslow, TW3 3BW. The firm can be contacted on 0208 5729867.
The SRA authorises and regulates a genuine solicitor called Nico Naper who is a solicitor at Bhogal Partners. His genuine email address is n.naper@bhogalpartners.co.uk.
The genuine Nico Naper and Bhogal Partners have confirmed they have no genuine and intended connection to the email referred to in the above alert.What should I do?
