What is the scam?

The website '' is operating, claiming to be for a firm of solicitors based in London.

The SRA has been advised that a member of the public received a fax advising that they have unclaimed funds in the UK from a 'relative'.  This fax directed the recipient to the website ''

The website '' appears to be an exact replica of the website for a genuine firm of solicitors (see below), however the links within the website do not work, or provide any information.

Any business or transaction through the website '' are not undertaken by a firm or solicitor authorised and regulated by the SRA.

Is there a genuine firm or person?

The SRA does authorise and regulate a genuine firm of solicitors called Stewarts Law LLP.

The genuine firm has confirmed that it has no connection to the website referred to in the above alert.

What should I do?

When a firm's or individual's identity has been copied exactly (or cloned), due diligence is necessary.
