What is the scam?

The SRA has been informed about a LinkedIn profile which is operating in the name of 'Jenelle Stanton' who is falsely claiming to be a solicitor at Clarke Willmott LLP.

The SRA does not authorise or regulate a solicitor with the name Jenelle Stanton.

Any business or transaction through 'Jenelle Stanton” or the above profile is not undertaken by a solicitor authorised and regulated by the SRA.

Is there a genuine firm or person?

The SRA authorises and regulates a genuine firm called Clarke Willmott LLP.

The genuine Clarke Wilmott LLP has confirmed that it does not employ an individual called 'Jenelle Stanton' and has no connection to the profile referred to in the above alert.

What should I do?

When a firm's or individual's identity has been copied exactly (or cloned), due diligence is necessary.
