Warning: Telephone calls misusing the name and SRA IDs of Daniel Marks and Susan Harris

Telephone calls have been received by members of the public regarding the mis-selling of solar panels, misusing the names and SRA IDs of Daniel Marks and Susan Harris.
What is the scam?
Members of the public have received telephone calls from people purporting to be 'Daniel Marks' (with SRA ID:20324) and 'Susan Harris' (SRA ID:151299) (see below). We understand the caller, or callers, advised the recipient they were entitled to compensation for the mis-selling of solar panels but would need to pay a percentage of their compensation in costs and fees.
The SRA has been advised a telephone call was made from '020 3290 6396'. Any business or transaction through this telephone number is not undertaken by a firm or individual authorised and regulated by the SRA.Is there a genuine firm or person?
The SRA authorises solicitors by the name of Susan Harris, including one with the SRA Number of 151299. None of the genuine solicitors named Susan Harris are believed to have any genuine connection to the telephone calls referred to in the above alert. The genuine Susan Harris with SRA ID 151299 has confirmed that she has no connection to the telephone calls.
The SRA also authorises solicitors called Daniel Marks, including one with the SRA ID number of 20324. None of the genuine solicitors named Daniel Marks, including the one with SRA ID: 20324, are believed to have any genuine connection to the telephone calls referred to in the above alert.
What should I do?
When a firm's or individual's identity has been copied exactly (or cloned), due diligence is necessary. If you receive correspondence claiming to be from the above firm(s) or individual(s), or information of a similar nature to that described, you should conduct your own due diligence by checking the authenticity of the correspondence by contacting the law firm directly by reliable and established means. You can contact the SRA to find out if individuals or firms are regulated and authorised by the SRA and verify an individual's or firm's practising details. Other verification methods, such as checking public records (e.g. telephone directories and company records) may be required in other circumstances.
