Disqualification pursuant to Section 99 of the Legal Services Act 2007
Keely Ann King, who is not a solicitor, was employed by Pudsey Legal Services Ltd whose head office is at Cringlebar House, 415 Bradford road, Pudsey, Leeds LS28 7HQ between 18 August 2014 and 31 May 2019 when she was dismissed. At the relevant time Mrs King was a director at the firm.
It was found that Mrs King:
Confirmed to another firm, which acted for the sellers in a conveyancing transaction in which Pudsey Legal Services Ltd acted for the buyers, that she held a signed deed of covenant when she did not.
The above conduct breached SRA Principles 2 and 6 of the SRA Principles 2011.
- A finding of dishonesty was made against Mrs King and she was made subject to a disqualification order pursuant to section 99 of the Legal Services Act 2007. This order prevents her from holding any of the following roles in a licensed body:
- Head of Legal Practice.
- Head of Finance and Administration.
- A manager
- An employee.
She was also directed to pay costs of £600.
