Repeal of Solicitors' (Non-Contentious Business) Remuneration Order 1994

We are consulting on our proposed addition to rule 2 of the Code of Conduct to replace the requirements in the current Remuneration Order on giving information to clients and others about how to question a bill.

Schedule of Charges – SRA (Cost of Investigations) Regulations 2009

We encourage you to comment on proposed changes to the SRA (Cost of Investigations) Regulations 2009 which we hope to introduce, in part, from January 2010. These costs are only applied where an investigation results in a formal regulatory sanction.

Moving toward a fairer fee policy

A new structure is required to ensure that the allocation of the cost of regulation is fair in the light of firm-based regulation and the introduction of legal disciplinary practices. We are proposing a shift from allocating the cost only among individuals to allocating part of the cost to regulated firms. Please tell us your views.
