The website ’www.gibbensandco.com' is operating falsely claiming to be for a firm called 'Gibbens and Co.'
What is the scam?
The website 'www.gibbensandco.com' is operating purporting to be for 'Gibbens and Co.'
The SRA has been advised that the website misuses the name, address, and company details of a genuine firm of solicitors (see below for further details).
The website provides a telephone number of '01622 37 0846' and an email address of 'office@gibbensandco.com.'
The website provides further email addresses of 'laura.sanders@gibbensandco.com' 'stephen.gibbens@gibbensandco.com,' 'mark.brown@gibbensandco.com' and 'laura.saunders@gibbensandco.com,' ' raul.shamah@gibbensandco.com' and 'scott.davis@gibbensandco.com' which it claims are the email addresses of the management team at 'Gibbens and Co.'
The SRA also understands that the website misuses photographs of personnel from a different genuine firm.
The SRA does not authorise or regulates solicitors called Laura Sanders or Raul Shamah.
Any business or transaction through the website of ‘www.gibbensandco.com’, the telephone number of ‘01622370846’ and the above email addresses are not undertaken by a firm or solicitor authorised and regulated by the SRA.

What should I do?
When a firm's or individual's identity has been copied exactly (or cloned), due diligence is necessary. If you receive correspondence claiming to be from the above firm(s) or individual(s), or information of a similar nature to that described, you should conduct your own due diligence by checking the authenticity of the correspondence by contacting the law firm directly by reliable and established means. You can contact the SRA to find out if individuals or firms are regulated and authorised by the SRA and verify an individual's or firm's practising details. Other verification methods, such as checking public records (e.g. telephone directories and company records) may be required in other circumstances.
