Telephone calls made misusing the name of CMS Cameron McKenna Nabarro Olswang LLP in relation to a supposed bitcoin monies.

What is the scam?

The SRA has been advised that a telephone call has been made from an individual using the name 'Jason Novak' and a telephone number appearing to be the London based '+442081574722', while claiming to be from 'CMS Recoveries Department'.

We understand that the call was in relation to supposed bitcoin monies or recoveries that needed to be transferred into the external party’s account.

Any business or transaction through the telephone number '+442081574722' is not undertaken by an individual or solicitors' practice authorised and regulated by the SRA.

Is there a genuine firm or person?

The SRA authorises and regulates a genuine firm of solicitors called CMS Cameron McKenna Nabarro Olswang LLP. The firm’s genuine London head office telephone number is 0207 367 3000.

CMS Cameron McKenna Nabarro Olswang LLP has confirmed it has no connection to the telephone number or call referred to in the above alert.
