Warning: Emails sent misusing the name of Milwyn Jenkins Limited

Emails have been sent misusing the name of Milwyn Jenkins Limited in relation to conveyancing transactions.
What is the scam?
The SRA has been informed that emails have been sent falsely purporting to be from a genuine firm of solicitors (see below for details) in relation to conveyancing transactions.
The emails seen by the SRA misuse the name of a genuine employee of the genuine firm (see details below) and advised the recipients that deposits monies are required to proceed with the exchange of contracts and requested payment to a fraudulent bank account.
The email also attaches a bank account details form which misuses the name, letterhead and postal address of the genuine firm (see below) and the name of a genuine employee (see below).
The emails were sent using the email address 'sspencer@milwyn-jenkin.co.uk' (note the missing 's').
Any business or transaction through the above email address and the domain name '@milwyn-jenkin.co.uk' is not undertaken by a firm or individual authorised and regulated by the SRA.
Is there a genuine firm or person?
The SRA authorises and regulates a genuine firm of solicitors called Milwyn Jenkins Limited. Its head office address is Cranford House, 1 Severn Square, Newtown, SY16 2AG and the telephone number is 01686626218. The genuine firm's email domain is @milwyn-jenkins.co.uk.
The genuine firm Milwyn Jenkins Limited employs individuals named Sue Spencer and Avril Evans who are employed at the firm.
The genuine firm Milwyn Jenkins Limited and its employees have confirmed that they do not have any connection to the emails referred to above.
What should I do?
When a firm's or individual's identity has been copied exactly (or cloned), due diligence is necessary. If you receive correspondence claiming to be from the above firm(s) or individual(s), or information of a similar nature to that described, you should conduct your own due diligence by checking the authenticity of the correspondence by contacting the law firm directly by reliable and established means. You can contact the SRA to find out if individuals or firms are regulated and authorised by the SRA and verify an individual's or firm's practising details. Other verification methods, such as checking public records (e.g. telephone directories and company records) may be required in other circumstances.
