This notification relates to a Decision to prosecute before the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal. This is an independent Tribunal which will reach its own decision after considering all the evidence, including any evidence put forward by the Respondent(s). The Tribunal has certified that there is a case to answer in respect of allegations which are or include that Carter Devile (a former recognised body with SRA ID: 44747):-
- From approximately 26 June 2017 to 21 January 2020, failed to ensure that they had in place a practice wide risk assessment.
- For up until approximately February 2021, failed to establish and maintain appropriate anti-money laundering policies and procedures.
- From 26 June 2017 to around February 2021 failed to ensure that relevant employees were regularly given appropriate training in recognising and dealing with transactions which may be related to money laundering or terrorist financing.
The allegations are subject to a Hearing before the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal and are as yet unproven.
