Supervision

We look at concerns reported to us about firms or individuals we regulate and decide whether to investigate them.

How we get reports

Reports come to us from many sources:

  • firms making reports about themselves or individuals who are or have been employed by them
  • employees reporting the firm they work for
  • firms or solicitors making reports about others in the profession
  • clients of firms
  • the police and the courts
  • the Legal Ombudsman
  • other regulators and MPs

We do not investigate every report we receive.
