Outcome of SDT Hearing

This notification relates to a Decision to prosecute before the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal. This is an independent Tribunal which reaches its own decision after considering all the evidence, including any evidence put forward by the Respondent. The Tribunal had certified that there was a case to answer.

The matter was heard on 22 January 2018.

The Tribunal ordered that, as from 22 January 2018, except in accordance with Law Society permission:

1. No solicitor shall employ or remunerate Mr Clarke, in connection with his practice as a solicitor;
2. No employee of a solicitor shall employ or remunerate Mr Clarke, in connection with the solicitor’s practice;
3. No recognised body shall employ or remunerate the said Mr Clarke;
4. No manager or employee of a recognised body shall employ or remunerate the said Mr Clarke in connection with the business of that body;
5. No recognised body or manager or employee of such a body shall permit the said Mr Clarke to be a manager of the body;
6. No recognised body or manager or employee of such a body shall permit the said Mr Clarke to have an interest in the body.
