'Joy Reed' is claiming to be employed by 'Reed & Co Solicitors Ltd'

What is the scam?

The SRA has been advised that a member of the public has been contacted by 'Joy Reed' to act for him in relation to a debt matter. 'Joy Reed' claims to be employed by 'Reed & Co Solicitors Ltd'.

The SRA has been advised 'Joy Reed' has contacted the member of the public using the contact number '07940490598'. 'Joy Reed' has also provided 0151 372 0930 as contact number and has given the SRA ID no: 812767.

The telephone number and the SRA ID provided misuse the telephone number and SRA ID of a genuine firm of solicitors. (Please see below)

Is there a genuine firm or person?

The SRA authorises and regulates a genuine firm of solicitors called Reed & Co Solicitors Ltd’. The genuine firm’s telephone number is 0151 372 0930 and its genuine SRA ID number is 812767.

The genuine firm of Reed & Co Solicitors Ltd has confirmed it has no connection to the automated calls referred to in the alert above.
