Warning: Emails misusing the name of Kate Rebecca Taylor

Emails have been sent misusing the name 'Rebecca Taylor' regarding supposed representation in court proceedings.

What is the scam?

Emails have been sent purporting to be from 'Rebecca Taylor' regarding the payment of fees for supposed representation in court in legal proceedings in the 'Royal Court of London'.

Emails seen by the SRA appear to have been sent from the email address 'r.taylor@lfsl.uk.com'. The contact numbers provided were '+44 208-089-5481 and +44 7441 428650', along with the SRA identification number for the genuine solicitor (see below).

The SRA has been advised that the contact details for 'Rebecca Taylor' were found on a website for 'Solutions Law Limited'.

Any business or transactions through 'Solutions Law Limited', the email address 'r.taylor@lfsl.uk.com' and telephone numbers '+44 208-089-5481 and +44 7441 428650' are not undertaken by an individual or firm of solicitors authorised and regulated by the SRA.

Is there a genuine firm or person?

The SRA authorises and regulates a genuine solicitor named Kate Rebecca Taylor whose SRA number is 632341.

The genuine Kate Rebecca Taylor has confirmed she has no connection to the emails or details on the website referred to in this alert.

What should I do?

When a firm's or individual's identity has been copied exactly (or cloned), due diligence is necessary.
