Warning: Website for 'Bonningtons Solicitors'

11 September 2022

The website 'https://www.bonningtons-solicitors.com/contact-us/' has been operating falsely claiming to be for ‘Bonningtons Solicitors.’

What is the scam?

A website has been operating at 'https://www.bonningtons-solicitors.com/contact-us/' purporting to be for 'Bonningtons Solicitors'.

The website misuses the name, office address and SRA identification number of a genuine firm of solicitors (see below).

The website also provides a telephone number of '+44 178 963 7001,' a fax number of '+44 178 963 7003' and an email address of 'info@bonningtons-solicitors.com.'

Any business or transaction through the website 'https://www.bonningtons-solicitors.com/contact-us/', the telephone number of '441789637001,' the fax number of '441789637003' or the email address of 'info@bonnington-solicitors.com' are not undertaken by a solicitors' practice or individual authorised and regulated by the SRA.

Is there a genuine firm or person?

The SRA authorises and regulates a firm of solicitors Bonningtons Solicitors, whose SRA identification number is 490849. Its office address is 276 Preston Road, Harrow, Middlesex, HA3 0QA, England.

The genuine email address of Bonningtons Solicitors is info@bonningtonssolicitors.com and the genuine website is www.bonningtonssolicitors.com.

The genuine telephone number for Bonningtons Solicitors is '0208 908 6363.' The firm no longer utilises a fax number.

The genuine firm Bonningtons Solicitors has confirmed they have no connection to the website referred to in the alert above.

What should I do?

When a firm's or individual's identity has been copied exactly (or cloned), due diligence is necessary. If you receive correspondence claiming to be from the above firm(s) or individual(s), or information of a similar nature to that described, you should conduct your own due diligence by checking the authenticity of the correspondence by contacting the law firm directly by reliable and established means. You can contact the SRA to find out if individuals or firms are regulated and authorised by the SRA and verify an individual's or firm's practising details. Other verification methods, such as checking public records (e.g. telephone directories and company records) may be required in other circumstances.
