An email has been sent misusing the name of Lancashire Law Ltd in relation to a property transaction.
What is the scam?
An email has been sent misusing the name of Lancashire Law Ltd in relation to a property transaction requesting payment into a fraudulent bank account.
The email was sent using an email address of 'kellyedge@lancslaw.com'.
The email misuse the name of a genuine firm of solicitors (see below).
There is a domain name registered at www.lancslaw.com. However, the website states it is temporarily unavailable.
Any business or transaction through the email address of 'kellyedge@lancslaw.com' is not undertaken by a solicitors' practice or individual authorised and regulated by the SRA.
Is there a genuine firm or person?
The SRA authorises and regulates a firm of solicitors called Lancashire Law Ltd trading as Lancashire Law. The firm’s email domain ends with @lancslaw.co.uk.
The genuine firm employs a staff member called Kelly Edge.
The genuine firm Lancashire Law Ltd has confirmed that it does not have any connection with the email referred to in the above alert.
What should I do?

Other verification methods, such as checking public records (e.g. telephone directories and company records) may be required in other circumstances.
